October 9, 1970.
We’re starting this hockey season off by revisiting Big Moments for the Vancouver Canucks with an inspired new Canucks line… and October 9th 1970, the first game of their first season in the NHL, is as big as they come. They were skipped over for the 1967 expansion but this was their time. The moment: a raucous sell-out opening ceremony at the Pacific Coliseum. Mass booing for the mayor. A round of cheers for original Vancouver Millionaire “Cyclone” Taylor. The team get in a line and stare down the guest of honour, the Stanley Cup.
The Cup.
Last year was a heartbreaker. That’s why this year, we want to go way back. Past 2011,‘94, ‘82 – we want to go back to the roots and where it all began: the Canucks starting new, facing down the Stanley Cup. Go back, revisit the moment and feel the energy of a city at the beginning of an era.
October, 9, 2011.
Our Canucks line takes you back to the first day at the Pacific Coliseum - new meets old and goes back to the roots of the team: Canucks blue & green, original stick and rink logo on athletic blends with a vintage fit and feel..

The Vancouver Canucks t-shirt 70′s collection is available now at Canucks team stores.

To honour the origins of this Centipede Atari Shirt designed for Urban Outfitters we headed to our local arcade (yes they still exist) set to kill the afternoon. Armed with a Super Big Gulp, a pocket of Hot Rods (for protein) and 20 dollars in quarters we exited daylight into an LED lit world of colour discord and thumping bass. (Apparently all colours are complementary when lit by LED…) more.

ATARI is about to relaunch Centipede on home consoles but for the ‘full experience’ you just may have to leave your apartment…
For the Leafs, it’s always been 1967. Back then Tim Horton wasn’t a cup of coffee, he was the strongest blue-liner in the game. Horton, along with a team of players on the verge of retirement (average age: 31) won a hard-fought series for the Stanley Cup. Moment of glory: hauling the Cup on their shoulders and parading down Younge St. Here we recall the cup win with our Maple Leafs ’67 collection that includes vintage colours and a hand drawn Leaf worn on their jerseys in 67.
Available exclusively at Real Sports Apparel Store.

The cure for October is memories of ice cream in July – a beach somewhere and maybe a beer… yeah, maybe a beer. This PBR T-shirt was a hit at Urban Outfitters and like the summer, sadly it’s gone! If you were one of the lucky ones to snag one of these PBR Tshirts, send us a pic! Make everyone jealous.

At the University of Washington, Bruce Lee broke tradition and taught kung fu to the non-Chinese. He won a devoted following and led classes wherever he could find an open space – under the campus portico, parking lots, even garages.
With his keen eye for detail, Bruce Lee opened the Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute on University Way in Seattle and worked on every aspect of the school – from painting the sandwich board sign and designing the membership cards to winning new pupils. He centered fully on his students, cultivating a close-knit community of active and committed followers.

If you aren’t Canadian you probably don’t know who David Suzuki is, and you may be thinking what you’re looking at is a remnant unearthed from a planetarium’s lost and found from a touring prog rock laser show from the 70s. …and then you’re going to ask “what’s a planetarium?” …and then you might be wondering about the link between the planetarium and laser shows… I guess you non Canadians will have to Google it and definitely Google David Suzuki because he’s kind of a big deal. Here’s the Suzuki t-shirt.

David Suzuki and prog rock don’t really have much to do with each other. But as Canadians we think of David Suzuki as a rockstar. He doesn’t have a light show or 25 minute tracks but you can support his foundation by downloading his ‘playlist for the planet’.
